Not a very good blogger, huh?

Well, it's obvious that I'm not very diligent in updating this blog. It's been a busy summer, the kids are back in school and fall knitting is about to begin in earnest.

I've joined a sock knitters group at my LYS and am really enjoying knitting my first pair of socks with that group. Every other month for a year, the group sends out a new sock pattern and yarn to make a pair of socks. It's going to be fun to see all the new designs that they send me. The first pattern was a modular sock pattern with a really fun varigated yarn in orange, blues, and lime green. They're definitely not for those shrinking violets out there!

ISE5 is starting soon and I'm excited to be helping out with the exchange this time. I've really enjoyed the other exchanges and I'm sure this one will be just as fun.

First post on the new blog

Well, I finally figured out how to use the new blogger and spent lots of time trying to figure out the name for the new blog. Since my original blog was Kellynknits, I decided to use Kellynpurls for this one as the natural progression of basic knitting is to knit and then to purl. ok, ok, not that profound as I really wanted to use Kellynknits here too but blogger wouldn't allow old blog and new blog by the same name.

I recently joined the new International Scarf Exchange 4 and am looking forward to getting my partner assignment so I can get started. The new matches should be arranged by March 15.
